Antoni Mundtadas discusses his work On translation: Açik Radyo. screened as part of the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid new cinema and contemporary art program at the House of World Cultures.On Translation: Acik Radyo is the result of a two year project during the Lives and Works in Istanbul.

‘At the end of 2008 I was invited to develop a project about Istanbul. After months of reading, working and research through the Living and Working in Istanbul project realized within the stanbul 2010 ECOC Agency program, I decided to work with and about Acik Radio. Acik Radio as a translation filter and interface between myself and the city of Istanbul. With them we dialogued, and interviewed and we created four radio programs asking and interrogating the representation of Istanbul.

The possibility to use the net to distribute the project makes it available through the Internet as an alternative to TV in a much more -time and space- accessible way.’ Antoni Muntadas

Die Partizipation der Betrachter ist dabei notwendige Voraussetzung.
