and platform for culture. UI Picks episodes are tailored for selected underground radio stations.
This episode of UI Picks is a selection made by Paulo Beto, creator of the band Anvil FX and co-director of the
documentary “Electronica:Mentes”.
Brazilian electronic music has roots in every style imaginable.
Initially, in the 50s and 60s, some composers traveled to Europe to study and have access to the means and techniques of
composition in the world’s most famous studios.
“ELETRONICA:MENTES” (directed by Dácio Pinheiro, Paulo Beto and Denis Giacobelis) is a documentary which investigates the
creative process of Brazilian musicians who make use of electronic equipment in their creations.
It will be screened on the third and final day of the Underground Institute Festival (10.12.22 at Gr_und Gallery, while days one and two
will be held at Silent Green and Panke on 8-9.12).
